Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty near Peebles in the Scottish Borders, just 30 minutes south of Edinburgh, Cringletie House is a 13-bedroom hotel with a self-catering cottage for four guests in the grounds. The magnificent property is set in 28 acre country estate, which includes a historic walled garden, woodland with nature trails and a working paddock suitable for horses.
Guests will be formally welcomed to the hotel on Christmas Eve with a drinks reception, before being invited to sample a splendid seasonal tasting menu, devised by head chef, Iain Gourlay. The delicious menu features a wonderful array of locally-sourced produce, all perfectly matched with carefully-chosen beverages.
The festivities continue on Christmas Day with a lavish lunch prepared by Iain and his team in Cringletie’s restaurant which has stunning views over the estate.
The fun resumes on Boxing Day with a seasonal treasure hunt, which is sure to be enjoyed by both children and adults alike. For those looking for fresh air and an opportunity to burn some calories, Cringletie is also providing country walks with an alpaca so that guests can experience the magic of the unspoiled Scottish Borders first hand.
