The Torridon becomes an AA-listed five-star hotel – Luxurious Scottish retreat The Torridon Hotel has been awarded five-star accreditation by the AA. The new accreditation comes hot on the heels of The Torridon winning ‘Most Hospitable Hotel of the Year’ in the Highlands & Islands Tourism Awards 2017, and of one of the hotel’s apprentices, Rosie Wilkins, winning ‘Apprentice of the Year Level 2’ as well as ‘Scotland’s Apprentice of the Year’ in the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards 2017. Our hearty congratulations.

Uphall butcher John Lawson lifted two Gold Awards at the Scottish Craft Butchers Savoury Pastry Products Awards 2018

Mr C’s Handcrafted Award-Winning Pies also picked up more well-deserved plaudits at the same awards. Congratulations to them all.

Whitmuir has more snow – nobody can say they don’t get proper winters anymore, at least in Lamancha! With sheep sheltering in the shed, scanned to see who’s got twins, plus lots of piglets around, 37 weaners running round the field in the snow and 13 just born in the shed. There is always lots to see and great ethical food to buy. Check out their delivery service too.
