The Real Bread Campaign is the charity working to find and share ways to make bread:
- Better for us
- Better for our communities
- Better for our planet
Scotland The Bread Honorary Chairman Andrew Whitley is a RBC co-founder, and we’re confident our supporters share the same aims. Becoming a member helps the Campaign promote real bread and its benefits, carry out research into sourdough’s strengths, and advocate against mass-produced ‘sourfaux’, the additive-laden sourdough imitation sold by many supermarkets masquerading as the real deal. Join up here.
Whether you’re a member or not, we encourage you to add your bakery (including community bakeries) to the Real Bread Finder to make it easier for people to find fantastic real bread locally.
Scotland The Bread coordinates the free supply to community bakeries and food programmes of 16 kg ‘Solidarity Bags’ of nutrient-dense, organic wholemeal wheat flour.
Solidarity Bags of flour are paid for by our customers and delivered by us to community bakeries working to ensure equitable access to nutritious bread and flour.
