Ordering from Loch Arthur for Christmas

There are so many lovely aromas coming from the Loch Arthur kitchen lately! We are getting ahead with our Christmas preparations here, making cakes and puddings and all sorts of Christmas nibbles. They will be on display in the shop next week and you are very welcome to place orders now.

Our Christmas meat order form is ready to pick up in the shop from today, listing all the different cuts of our own beef, lamb and pork, plus our home made haggis and black pudding.
We are sourcing local free range turkey, free range chicken and duck, organic turkey and organic chicken. Sadly there are no geese available this year.

Supplies of some sizes of the poultry are very limited so please do get your orders in as early as possible so as not to be disappointed.
Last orders for meat will be taken on 16th December.

Collection dates for poultry will be Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th December.
You are very welcome to email your order here.

Organic fruit & veg

We are expecting some fabulous seasonal veg in this week’s deliveries… Some of us will be delighted to see Brussel sprouts, parsnips and clementines back on the list. We are still able to source UK tomatoes, celery and salads but now that we’re into the cooler seasons the courgettes, aubergine and cucumbers are coming from Spain. Everything is still organic though.
All sorts of cabbages and kale are still being harvested in the Loch Arthur biodynamic garden, keeping the shop supplied with Cavolo Nero, red and green curly kale, savoy cabbages and hard white and red cabbages. You’ll see the labels on the display showing where everything is sourced from.

The craft display in the shop is looking amazing just now, with lots of beautiful things for your home or for giving as gifts to those you love. We’ll be keeping the tables topped up with products made in our own weavery and wood workshop, plus lots of other fabulous things made by local arts and crafts people.

Christmas treats

Our kitchen team are taking orders for Christmas cakes now, and puddings are ready to pick up and take home today.

Loch Arthur-handmade Christmas treats will be ready next week too… chocolate coated almonds, nutty snowballs, lemon & cardamon shortbread and our fabulous stollen.

Christmas hampers

For many years we have used a courier service to send out hampers for Christmas gifts and we anticipate we might be even busier with this in the coming month. It’s very scary to see that in writing… but yes, for hampers, cheese or anything else that you would like us to mail out on your behalf, last orders will be Friday 11th December.
