Uradale ShetlandWoolWeek25 tours are now open

We’re thrilled to announce that the ticket sales for our Uradale SWW25 tours are now open! This year we are offering three different tours:
🐏
A 21st century Shetland farm with 5000 year old answers:
Come to Uradale hear about our Native Shetland kye (‘cattle’) and sheep, and about our ethos of living with the environment rather than on or against it. You will also hear the story behind our yarn while enjoying a cup of coffee, and you will get to browse our yarn shop. Lunch included.
🧶
The saga of Shetland’s wool and the fight for Shetland’s language:
Hear the story of the ancient Native Shetland breeds that Uradale specialises in and how they offer real solutions to the current climate crisis. Learn about ethos and our yarn while enjoying a cup of coffee. Then hear the saga of Shaetlan, the language that pre-dates English on the islands, now endangered but which has become famous around the world. Hear how it is the traditional skills that have helped save this rich language. You will of course also get to browse our yarn shop. Lunch included.
🎬
Uradale Unplugged:
For those of you who are not able to come to Uradale in person, we invite you to join us virtually for our live, unplugged and unscripted tours. You can choose to join only one of the two tours – the farm tour or the talk about Shetland’s language and how traditional skills have helped preserve it – or join both.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to Uradale! Go to @islandvistashetland to book now!
