This attractive family run country lodge on outskirts of town has been extensively and lovingly refurbished and is absolutely beautiful. Chef patron Neil McGowan and his family are justly proud of its status as Fishing Hotel of the Year, a pastime close to his heart. Indeed any guests can be assured their catch will be skillfully conjured into their dinner if desired.
‘Two Sisters at East Haugh House’ restaurant is recommended in the UK’s Michelin Guide 2017. Game and local seafood are regulars on the menu and shooting and stalking can be arranged for you. The atmosphere in their beautifully appointed dining room is really lovely, with its fishing memorabilia and old photographs of local heritage. This is my superb slow cooked lamb dish.
