This rustic restaurant was originally a weaving mill and now a rural local pub with gastro-style dining, filled with life and colour. The couthy 18th Century steading, complete with open fire is the perfect hygge and their frequently changing dishes use the finest local produce. Now also with a lovely licensed deli & gift shop in the courtyard The Old Mill Shop
Their mouth-watering menus include Cullen Skink, pork belly with Shetland scallops, roe deer, Ayrshire pork three ways with black pudding, apple sauce & golden beets (pictured), cauliflower steaks, Scottish sirloin and gourmet burgers (also pictured). They also conjure up a popular range of pizzas from the bustling kitchen. There is much to enjoy, whether indoors or in their beautiful garden dining, lovingly created by Mark and exceptionally beautiful, nestling among beds of wildflowers and butterflies, hanging baskets and fairy lights.
The Old Mill also has a beautiful Mongolian yurt that seats up to 24 people and is available to hire for private dining. With its own entrance and new wood burning stove its the perfect place to celebrate a special birthday, an anniversary or to get together with family.
This couple are both enthusiastic and gifted chefs with a great knowledge of local produce, cheeses, seafood and beef – great food from a lovely family business.
