Named as one of the top places to stay in the world. Nestled on the shores of Loch-Na-Dal on Skye’s Sleat peninsula the fabulous Kinloch Lodge has been named on Condé Nast Gold List as one of the world’s best hotels 2022.
Kinloch is a historic destination country house hotel on Skye and home to the Clan Chief Macdonald. Claire and Godfrey, Lord Macdonald, for many years ran Kinloch and now it is in the expert hands of their daughter Isabella. With stunning grounds and graceful rooms, you will have a wonderful experience… and the bedrooms are gorgeous too.
This time we visited in the afternoon and sampled their inviting Bar Menu whilst others in the dining room ate a leisurely lunch and ladies in the drawing room enjoyed afternoon tea! My warm roast beef sandwich and Bosse’s crème caramel dessert were both really delicious. Whilst Kinloch’s dinners are exceptional, it is also valuable to have places for tourists to go for fine food at other times of the day.
Lady Claire Macdonald has done wonders for Skye – indeed for all of Scotland. Kinloch Lodge’s renowned hospitality provides an ideal escape from our hectic lifestyles. ‘Charming, cosy and discreetly luxurious’ as they say, and it could not be more accurate. Members of the prestigious Scotch Beef Club. Winner of Most Hospitable Hotel, Thistle Awards 2017
“Head Chef since 2020, Jordan Webb has taken Kinloch and it’s food on an incredible journey. Being true to our island and true to sustainability. He’s masterminded so much of the wonderful produce we now grow in our Kinloch garden, he forages on his days off, but most of all he inspires an amazing team of chefs who have remained loyal to him and Kinloch.”
