Originally a dairy farm business, Hilary and her father Dean Anderson are now famous for their Allarburn eggs, vegetables and tatties. At first it was a surprise, although very handy, to find a farm shop in the middle of Elgin! It all makes perfect sense when you realise this was originally where they processed and packaged their milk in readiness for deliveries. It was transformed into their farm shop and later extended to add on the farmhouse kitchen cafe. It is a popular haunt for locals to meet, eat and shop, with its comprehensive selection of local produce and high quality arty food related gifts.
The light and airy space is perfect for their produce along with that from many other Scottish producers whom they support. In addition to their homegrown vegetables and seasonal fruit they are justly proud of their Allarburn Herd of Wagyu Beef, with its distinct marbled appearance and characteristic flavour.
Now also with an array of vending machines at their door offering you their fabulous produce outwith opening hours.
Their lovely cafe is ‘gate to plate’ with freshly made cakes and brimming bowls of soup. All the potatoes and vegetables used are homegrown as are their steaks and burgers. A really super place to visit when in Elgin.
