This fabulous new addition to Scottish Cheese Trail has a range of dairy produce and handmade artisan butter. Robert has a charming frontage on Dalry high street, pretty as a picture. He welcomes visitors to his dairy during normal working hours and there is a window to view what is going on.
Relatively new to the dairy business, Robert was trained by the best, Kathy Biss of West Highland Dairy, and his creme fraiche (like a top notch Norwegian Rømme – a soured cream that can be eaten as a dessert or a savoury – in quality and consistency) is to die for! He also makes fabulous fresh and cultured butters, beautifully presented as you would find in a vintage farmhouse kitchen and with a wonderful flavour. He makes yoghurts too and a delicious soft cheese called Dalry Caaf in a range of flavours and is currently developing others in his range.
Robert only uses milk from the Ayrshire breed of cattle from the Mossgiel fold so he uses exceptional milk to make his exceptional products.
