Profile
Located in a beautiful old coaching inn, with plenty exposed stone and timber as befits such a historic building. Barley Bree has won awards and is well known for its use of wonderful Perthshire produce. This enthusiastic couple have their roots in highland hospitality and the cooking of North West France – a winning combination of Scottish ingredients cooked with a sparkle of French imagination. Their attention to detail and the provenance, breed and sourcing of their ingredients is worthy of great praise.
The menu is an enticing array of dishes…hard to choose but as you can see we sampled the most superb luncheon dishes of seafood, beef and tart tatin to finish. Highly recommended.
Fabrice combines his French heritage and fine skills with Scotland’s seasonal produce in a menu that changes every day. Alison is from Raasay, Isle of Skye where she too honed her skills and knowledge of local food culture. As parents themselves they also welcome children to enjoy good food at Barley Bree. They can offer outside catering for weddings, host private functions and have several delightful bedrooms so you don’t need to drive home. There is also a sunny terrace. A super place for a special celebration. Regional winners of the 2014 Best Restaurant Experience Scottish Thistle Awards.
In addition to this very special restaurant there is Les Bourgeois on their website, offering delicious home-made and handpicked food online. For the moment it only has Barley Bree vouchers in denominations of £20, £50 and £100, the perfect Foodie gift.through this new web shop – but hopefully very soon you will be able to purchase their famous Christmas puddings and other seasonal goodies.
