2025 was a very difficult year for everyone on the farm, and Wilma’s absence has been felt deeply, but 2025 also brought moments of joy. We have been humbled by the support shown to us by our customers, friends and supporters. We look forward to 2026 being the year in which the concept of keeping dairy calves with their mums becomes an accepted and normalised part of farming.
Look out for a viewing of A Dairy Story, the movie of the book that is available on their website. I can highly recommend both the book and the movie.
The next local screenings will take place in Dumfries, then Annan, Moffat and Stranraer. You’ll find a full list of screening dates on the film website. These local screenings are happening because of the demand locally, the film team are currently planning wider distribution for the film later this year.
Garnie is available for pre-order, for delivery first week of February, and 150g wedges of Cheddar are available for pre-order, for delivery from 19th January.
We’ve also added some 500g wedges of Blue Cooking Cheese to the online store. This is a batch of Fleet Valley Blue which was tucked away and missed before Christmas, so it’s a bit older than we’d prefer.
The cheesemakers say it tastes great, but the packing team feel it’s a bit too strong, so we’ve erred on the side of caution and have graded it as Cooking Cheese. But if you like a strong Fleet Valley Blue, this batch is for you.
