News for Cafe St Honore

Things are heating up at Cafe with the busy rugby season upon us and Valentine’s. Generally, folk are venturing out to eat a bit more with the lighter evenings. Staffing levels are fine, but a chef or two may be required as business picks up, so do let me know if you hear of anyone.

The market is back and as good as ever, with all the usual cheekiness from myself, and now Louis, who replaces Mrs Chef, who has bowed out after far too many of my dad jokes. And I bring news of a wine dinner as promised on the 9th of March.

Our fabulous ‘at home’ offering is still available, with this week a classic ham hock terrine with pickles as a starter. Follow the link below, as always, to order.

RHONE VALLEY WINE DINNER

Monday 9 March 2026

We are delighted to invite you to an evening of exceptional Rhône wines and seasonal food at Cafe St Honoré. Chef Director Neil Forbes will guide you through a four-course spring-inspired menu, paired with wines from Raeburn Fine Wines*.

Murray McDougal, who has years of experience in Edinburgh’s restaurants and recently completed his WSET Diploma, will introduce each wine, sharing insight into the Rhône Valley and tasting notes. Highlights include magnum pours and a single-barrel St Joseph exclusive to Raeburn – wines you won’t taste anywhere else.

The dinner will be held in one sitting at 6.30pm. The cost is £110 per person. To book, call 0131 226 2211 or email eat@cafesthonore.com. A £50 deposit per person will be taken at the time of booking.

*Raeburn Fine Wines has been sourcing and cellaring exceptional wines for over 40 years, bringing a curated selection of French and Italian wines, both from renowned estates and lesser-known growers, always with personality, provenance, and the highest quality.

Thanks to everyone who came to see us at the Edinburgh Farmer’s Market yesterday – lovely to catch up. Our next market day is next Saturday 21 February when you’ll find us on Castle Terrace between 9am-2pm with lots of tasty food, including ready meals, Scotch eggs, bridies, puddings and so much more!
