The days are getting longer and there’s a fresh, lively energy at the Barn. Woodland walks are calling, the air is starting to warm, and our take-away shed is stocked with delicious treats to enjoy outside.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and we’ve been preparing something truly special — whether you’d like to celebrate with a cosy café experience or a thoughtful treat box delivered to your door.
MOTHER’S DAY AT THE CAFE
Sunday 15 March
This Mother’s Day, bring mum for a relaxed, indulgent lunch at the Barn. Our new chef has created a special menu, including afternoon teas and a hearty roast dinner. The afternoon teas are layered experiences — with wholesome sandwiches, warm cheese scones, local cheeses, and sweet treats designed to delight. Roast dinners feature our own tender pork or gammon served with cottage fries, homemade chutney, and seasonal greens. Space is limited, so we recommend booking early to secure your table and enjoy a leisurely experience together.

Each box features a choice of our handcrafted farmhouse cheeses — Elrick Log, Corra Linn, or Lanark Blue — paired with crisp Miller’s Buttermilk crackers, our homemade chutney, and two sweet treats: Chocolate Tree milk chocolate crunchies and lemon & ginger oaties. Optional add-ons include a bottle of Stella Bella Sauvignon Blanc. Simple to order, easy to collect or have delivered, and utterly indulgent.

SPRING WREATH-MAKING WORKSHOPS
Sunday 22 & Saturday 28 March
Spring is in the air, and our Spring wreath-making workshops with Black Mount Community Development Trust offer a relaxing, creative way to celebrate the season. Using real bulbs like daffodils, tulips, and muscari, participants can make living wreaths that can later be planted in the garden. The workshops are hosted in the cosy larch room, with views over the Black Mount scenery and a warming fireplace. Proceeds support local charitable work, so it’s a wonderful way to enjoy the season and give back.
Perfect as a Mother’s Day gift, or to get your doorway ready for spring.
