A great addition to border country is this super coffee shop perched up in the hills conveniently by the main road to Lauder – the ideal stop on the road connecting north and south – many’s the time we have paused for a light bite. Spacious and airy, bustling and cheery, the café is a popular haunt with home bakes, teas, coffees, meals and edible gifts too such as tablet and jams…. all of the above plus the most outstanding panoramic views.
You can marvel at the vista all the way to Edinburgh and on a clear day over to Fife. Food-to-go is also available if you are in a hurry or sit in and take time to pause. The generously sized car park is ideal.
The food is homemade, unpretentious and fresh from the kitchen: order at the counter and it will be brought to your table – a choice of soups, baked potatoes with fillings, salads, sandwiches (the ham is home-baked) and an array of cakes baked daily so something for everyone and all generations.
