Profile
Welcome to new member The Aberdour Hotel, a landmark in this bonnie conservation seaside village and the perfect place for golfers, tourers, yachtsmen, families, empty nesters, cyclists, walkers and business folk to pause. Aberdour is on the Fife Coastal Path so there are many who take on the challenge, booking hotels and lovely dinners en route. It is also home to the famous Silver Sands beach and the Aberdour Festival runs every summer. The 12th century church is absolutely beautiful and the castle was a film location for Outlander.
This charming traditional 17th century coaching inn is under new ownership, Jason Borthwick and his family, who already have the delightful Burntisland Sands Hotel.
The Aberdour is located on the historic High Street, alongside a lovely range of independent shops and sufficient on-road parking. Jason uses locally landed fish from Pittenweem, supports the local butcher in the next village and makes a point of using Fife businesses and family enterprises. Their freshly prepared meals include popular favourites as well as more elaborate dishes, with both hearty and light-sized portions to select from. There are always chargrilled steaks on the menu – especially Friday night steak night – and the vegetarians are also looked after.
From breakfasts, through lunches and tasty dinners, this is not only a friendly family-run hotel with 16 lovely rooms but also the beating heart of the community and very sociable. There are quiz nights and international themed evenings, watch the big rugby matches or follow the footie!
All guests are entitled to 20% off green fees at Burntisland Golf Course and Aberdour Golf Club
