The Border Union Show has a great line up for you not to be missed. The Scottish Borders is a bonnie part of the world, by-passed by too many as they race northwards to well-trodden routes and islands but well worth a pause. A land of stately homes and castles; Border raids and flourishing farmland; rolling hills and swirling rivers. It is popular with walkers and fisherfolk, historians and writers, cyclists and tourers. Unlike some regions, it is tranquil with stunning vistas bereft of crowds and pretty Border towns brimming with family businesses.
The highlight of the year for both the Scottish Borders and Northumbria, the Show has a great reputation growing year on year. There will be equestrians mounted on fine stallions, dogs paraded, judges deliberating and shampoo’d sheep to admire. They have every angle of agriculture covered in entertaining and educational ways… plus a very fine Food Hall because we all know it’s the farmers who feed us!
We have a terrific programme in the Cookery Theatre throughout the event, with the full timetable below.

Come and visit us in the Food Hall whilst you’re there. This year Kelso Farmers Market (awarded Best Farmers Market in Scotland by The Rare Breeds Survival Trust), are working in partnership with the Border Union Show, adding a new dimension to the Food Hall, along with yours truly.

There are artisan food stalls, carefully curated with exceptional food and drink in balanced measure, including Bridgelands Farm with premium pasture-raised eggs; Doddington Dairy with their fabulous ice creams; wines from Cairn O’Mohr; award-winning cheese from Errington Barn; sizzling jellies and sauces from Allan’s Chilli, Jack and Jills Jam, Going Native Heritage Meats, venison from Pitscandly Farm, and Scottish shellfish to name but a few.
The Tuke family of Hardiesmill, stalwarts of the Kelso Farmers’ Market, are also there with their world-famous Native Aberdeen Angus Ethical Beef.
There will be an Artisan Cheese & Wine Tasting on the Saturday afternoon
sponsored by Scottish Cheese Trail & Cairn O’Mohr Wines. Tickets are limited so please reserve your seat for your tasting box & wine samples. BOOK ON ARRIVAL AT THE SHOW The full £5 booking fee goes to the Border Union charity.
