Thistle Winners for Central, Fife & Tayside 2018/19 Thyme at Errichel Restaurant for CalMac Best Eating Experience
Errichel is a very special inspiring place. Close to Aberfeldy yet in a world of its own. Becky and Paul are a winning combo: their enthusiasm for the land and heritage breeds, combined with Paul’s prestigious accolades for his skills in the kitchen. He has worked in kitchens and competed across the world and now brings these experiences to Errichel using only the finest produce, much of which is grown or reared on their Farm: Shetland cattle, Shetland sheep, geese, hens, ducks and Large Black Pigs. Among other goodies on sale in their dainty farm shop Paul makes his own Shetland Beef Biltong, award-winning charcuterie, preserves and jellies. They also sell Shetland crafts, wool products and fleeces too.
Errichel operates as a B&B with beautiful en suite rooms in the main building or cottage within the grounds. The breakfasts offer a delicious range of freshly prepared options reflecting their own produce – eggs and hams. They have self catering too and serve dinners Thursday to Saturday. Dinners are served in Thyme at Errichel Restaurant, a beautiful Roundhouse in the main house. The ever-changing menu reflects this couple’s passion for home reared and seasonal cooking par excellence. Menus also feature a nightly Tagine, a signature dish of Paul’s inspired by his travels, using their own meats. There are mouth-watering vegetarian options too. Errichel is also available for bespoke options: weddings and celebrations; farm walks and guided nature tours. A wonderful taste adventure away from the hurly burly.
