Profile
This is a fabulous bakehouse in every way – from its stunning waterside location, with innovative buildings, through to the mastery and skills in the bakery, producing real sourdough bread and croissants for lucky Mallaig. There are also harbour-front tables on the deck to tarry awhile with a latte and a perfectly laminated pastry or two. Very popular with locals, tourists and visiting sailors moored in the harbour. For the best array it’s good to be early!
Matthew specialises in long fermented sourdoughs and viennoiserie including mouth-watering specials such as lemon meringue or chocolate honeycomb cruffins, maple & pecan danish and Challah. Delicious savoury filled croissants are also made daily.
They offer sourdough pizzas with a range of delicious toppings to takeaway from their adjacent roundhouse, the Crannog Pizzeria, at weekends on the quay. Check out Facebook link for times, depending on season, for availability, and you can book your pizza in advance. Well worth a trip to this growing food destination, Mallaig.
