Home to husband and wife team Angus and Jane Fordyce, they have owned Cavens for nineteen years and are well-versed in appreciating the personal touches guests value. For all its Georgian grandeur and gracious rooms, Cavens retains an ease, charm and comfort that embraces every guest who enters.
For residents, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast is all inclusive. They also offer non-residents Dinner and have many returning visitors. Cavens can be booked for exclusive use for your celebrations and has not only an exceptional wine list but also a marvellous wine cellar (pictured).
Dinner changes nightly and will often include local seafood and game, cheeses from the nearby organic dairy and the Solway is famed for its flavoursome grass-fed beef and lamb. Relax in the fine dining ambience and forget about cities, traffic and crowds for this part of the world is as peaceful as it is beautiful – by day you can be energetic and go walking over the rolling hills or sedately absorbing the flora and fauna.
