Profile
This West End wine bar celebrated 40 years in 2023 and is as vibrant and popular as ever. Indeed it is quite an institution – loved by its regulars and a glimpse of real Edinburgh for passing tourists.
Serving traditional, freshly made, classic pub food with Scottish cuisine and an emphasis on seafood. They source seafood from small local boats, with meats and wild game from local suppliers and family businesses.
As their name suggests, they are famed for their wine cellars, with a host of well-selected wines, many offered by the glass, with an on-line shop for purchases too.
A valued haunt for locals, for refreshments en route home, or for more leisurely dining, evening or lunchtime. Whighams Wine Cellar is very central – a short stone’s throw from Princes Street. Check out their website link for details of their jazz nights too.
With atmospheric cellars, excellent dining, fine wines by the glass and a great atmosphere what’s not to love?
