Profile
This gorgeous dining experience has it all in abundance, so a warm welcome to our new Scottish Food Guide member. Located a tiny hop from bustling St Andrews, five minutes drive at the most, you are in another world – an elevated rural location with stunning views over countryside to the Tay estuary and beyond. The 17th Century buildings are quintessential Fife vernacular, built in stone with traditional pan-tiled roof, set amidst beautifully manicured grounds. The main dining room was once the stables, charmingly restored creating a relaxing fine dining experience with panoramic views.
A warm welcome awaits you from the owners, John and Carolyn Kelly and their delightful staff. The 3-course lunch menu – plus an and/or cheese option – offers four options per course. The only challenge is which one to choose as they are all extremely tempting, ranging from blue cheese with caramelised figs, beetroot, toasted walnut & Dijon dressing, to a light and fragrant Cullen Skink. Mains embraced melt-in-the-mouth slow-braised blade of beef, pork loin pancetta with Savoy cabbage, wholegrain mustard, confit of sweet potato, plum & apple sauce, and other options of sea trout or a delicious-sounding barley risotto.
The desserts, also pictured, are equally impressive and flavoursome. Add home baked bread and you certainly have a memorable meal, highlighting only the best Scottish produce, much of which is sourced very locally from well-established farmers and producers nearby. Dinners are also impressive, with seasons and produce taking centre stage with great skill. John and Carolyn are passionate about Scotland’s culinary heritage and seeking out the best produce. Open Thursdays to Sundays inclusive, The Grange Inn also has a lovely snug bar for gathering pre-dinner, and a private dining room available to book for groups.
