Profile
Welcome to new member The Storehouse, located on the coast at Foulis Ferry with beautiful vistas and generous customer parking. The heritage building, restored and given new life, is a warm welcoming butter cream shade, reflecting its past life. It was built around 1740 as an estate storehouse for the Munro Clan of Foulis. Oat and barley were stored, more often than not used for payment in kind and portioned out to farm servants as part of their wages. The remainder went by sea, traded to the army at Fort George.
In modern times it is a fabulous store brimming with local produce from artisan producers, inspiring gifts and an excellent informal restaurant for travellers, shoppers and friends to tarry awhile or stop briefly on their journey. Their home baking is super tasty and hot meals are served too.
With over 100 gins on sale, chocolates and artisan cheese – the range of comestibles is extensive and inviting.
Located just off – and visible from – the A9, on the edge of the Cromarty Firth it overlooks the Black Isle and is just 15 minutes from Inverness. A favourite eating place and the perfect place to pause on the North Coast 500.
