Profile
Christie the Baker has been a family name in the North Lanarkshire community for almost 80 years with outlets in Airdrie and Coatbridge. Over the years they have won many awards including the well-deserved World Champion Scotch Pie Award, with his own specialty Scotch pie crust made with Scottish flour and beef filling from his local butcher. Andrew, a third generation baker, has been ten years at the helm, with his wife Carolyn. They source as many ingredients as they can locally and use traditional Scottish recipes, hand finishing every product. They make a lovely loaf, traditionally referred to as Plain or Batch loaf, both white and brown, along with traditional dainty cakes and tray bakes.
They offer an “Online preorder collection service” where afternoon teas and picnic boxes can be ordered.
Andrew has made a couple of appearances on television – Paul Hollywoods Pies and Puds and recently on Food Unwrapped with Briony Williams.
