Tom Lewis’ informal inn is a wonderful addition to ‘Mhor’ and a welcome stop for any foodie traveller. He bought a tired old inn and created a fabulous quirky venue with lively vibes. The perfect roadside inn to rest awhile in among their delightful up-cycled props and furnishings. That bowlful of mussels I tucked into was sensational.
Very welcoming, a touch rustic and Nordic Celt, it opens early (check seasonal variations on their link) and serves fab breakfasts. We often stop on our way north and good news travels fast as walkers, drivers and cyclists are tarrying awhile to relish their top notch food, from the classics to the innovative, all with fine local produce.
Tom also has Monachyle Mhor(by Balquhidder) & Mhor Bread (Callander) and their imaginative homeware store Mhor In Store (next door to Mhor84). Mhor in Store has an eclectic mix you are unlikely to find anywhere else: kitchenalia to clothes, wicker baskets to textiles and tactile woods. Great for gifts – for friends or to treat yourself!
