2021 Winner of The Best Farm Shop & Deli in Scotland in the Great British Food Awards. A huge congratulations goes to their awesome team for all the hours spent caring for their animals on the farm, cooking the most delicious food, serving customers, unpacking boxes, digging potatoes and so much more. This fabulous family farm & farm shop is hard to beat.
Their traditional East Neuk mixed farm has pasture-for-life beef and lamb (sometimes mutton), reared and bred on farm to exceptionally high welfare standards. The slow maturing ensures well-marbled succulent results. Their beautiful award-winning Farm Shop on site has wonderful speciality local produce, their own meats and products cooked and baked onsite in their customised commercial kitchen. There are also many lovely foodie items for home or gifts.
They have their own world class beef steak pies and other homemade ready to eat goodies alongside the mouth-watering steaks and a great range from other essential supplies from cheese to their home grown vegetables, local eggs, preserves and bakes. A fantastic range all under one roof.
Claire also produces their own honey from the Ardross bees – indeed this very special place is an absolute pearl in Fife. The whole family is involved, from co-founder Fiona to the grandchildren and everyone in between. Daughter Nikki is primarily in charge of the farm shop and her sister Claire is the farmer. Winners of many awards – here’s those three celebrating one of them.
Newly launched, Rob’s Lager, named after their fabulous Dad who I had the pleasure to know. In remembrance of a delightful man who loved his farm and his family.
They have kindly allowed Bosse (from 2021) to experiment with heritage grains in their walled garden for possible future seed-saving & artisan grains for baking. At harvest time there is an open evening that is posted on the Ardross newsletter. Ardross is also a stockist of our book, “Meadows: The Swedish Farmer & The Scottish Cook.” They host regular seasonal events in their loft above the farmshop so check out Facebook for forthcoming events.
