Profile
The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant is situated at the gardens entrance of the Scottish National Gallery on the Mound with iconic views to Princes Street Gardens. Open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, this is the perfect venue to have a taste of Scotland through our 70 artisan Scottish suppliers. They take great care to showcase these stunning flavours simply, with a big warm welcome and have one of the best traditional afternoon teas!
Not only are the dishes inspiring and delicious focussing on locally sourced ingredients direct from suppliers but a similar attention to details has gone into the artists and textiles in the new designs. Inspiring and mouth-watering. The Continis are also Slow Food Supporters, following the principles of the international Slow Food Movement.
Stylish and contemporary, under the National Galleries of Scotland is a gastronomical experience as well as a cultural one! Here Victor and Carina Contini bring you traditional recipes with fresh produce and their own kitchen garden. This time the menu is more Celtic than Italian and equally successful. A fabulous place. Their venues are always stylish and enjoyable with superb savoury dishes, sweet cakes and imaginative treats.
There are light bites and substantial meals, all delicious. They pride themselves in local Slow Food, with a map showing where producers are and also growing their own in their kitchen garden.
Victor & Carina have two other equally lovely venues in Edinburgh: Contini Cannonball & Contini George Street, each with their own character but equally committed to fine produce and flair.
