J Gow Rum is a Scottish island rum inspired by pirates! Collin is always refreshing and developing his range, experimenting with yeasts and creating new lines such as Revenge & Clastrain alongside his Classic and Spiced, all exceptional. The shop also houses the other business in the family, The Orkney Wine Company and some carefully selected island crafts. Collin won a gold medal for his un-aged rum Culverin at the 2023 London Spirits Competition, along with silver medals for the spiced, Fading Light and Revenge! Located beside their attractive shop on the tiny isle of Lamb Holm, across the famous Churchill Barriers (causeways) from Orkney Mainland beside The Italian Chapel. (pictured)

Collin is an exceptional artist and has created all the logos and graphics in house from the amazing ship on the labels to the T-shirt designs.
Check out my Simnel Cake recipe using Collin’s rum – a delicious kick to any fruit cake. I also use his Spiced Rum to soak rowan berries then use them to decorate cakes and desserts all winter.
