  1. Pre-heat oven 180°C.
  2. Add butter and salt to the boiling water to melt and dissolve before adding the liquid to the bowl of oatmeal.
  3. Stir and set aside for 8-10 minutes until all the water is absorbed.
  4. Turn out the warm dough onto a floured surface and roll out. Cut in shapes of your choice.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes. They should look toasted around the edges and fully dried out.
Recipe Notes

Makes a dozen or so depending on size. Store in an airtight tin. Photo also features the delicious Ballochmyle Brie from Ayrshire.
